Drawing Course [June-July]

Love to Draw

| June 3, 2026 to July 22, 2026

Whether you’ve never drawn before, long to rekindle your dormant artistic talents or simply would like to learn something new – this course is bound to make you fall in love with drawing if you aren’t already!

During this eight week course you will explore the power of mark-making through a wide range of classical and contemporary drawing methods and techniques, alongside looking at some key artists’ inspirational works.

This exciting exploration will not only enable you to build confidence in drawing but you will also start to develop your own creative voice through an enhanced understanding of the discipline and skill of drawing.

In the first four weeks we will focus on the following rudimentary ‘building blocks’ of drawing (and all of visual art for that matter); Line, Form (light & shade), Texture & Pattern, Composition.

Then for the latter part of the course, we will pick a subject to study each week; i.e. still life, portraiture, landscape (plein air), life drawing and apply the learnings from the first half of the course.

Drawing truly is, not only a wonderful tool to begin or enhance your artistic journey, but a life-long skill for expressing yourself and the world around you. Each one of us has our own voice and it’s incredible to see how, just like handwriting, drawing is part of our unique imprint.

This course will set you up with some excellent tools to enable you to continue with your own drawing practice and to have a more intimate appreciation for some of Art History’s greats.
