Iona is best known for her loose, instinctive style, bold brushstrokes and vibrant colour. Often producing large still life pieces, she draws from her domestic environment to find inspiration. These works, along with her dynamic native Cornish landscapes and large figure paintings have established her as a well known contemporary painter.
She shows her work in Cornwall and London, is a resident artist on Tresco, Isles of Scilly, and is a member of the prestigious Penwith Gallery . She also teaches at the iconic St.Ives School of Painting alongside the historic Porthmeor Studios.
She teaches in a relaxed, informal style and encourages established and novice artists alike to loosen their approach to their work, and to develop their own style.
