My work is deeply rooted in the stunning land and seascapes of the West Country. Having spent all my adult life here, I draw continual inspiration from its shorelines and rolling countryside. My paintings are a heartfelt response to place; an attempt to capture not only the visual essence of the land and sea, but the emotional resonance they hold too.
Working in my small studio in Exmouth, and primarily in oils, I like to think my work reflects the qualities of the places I visit and is a great escape from the stresses and pressures of modern life and work.
Seascapes and landscapes form the heart of most of my work and are often shaped by long walks and quiet observation. I am particularly influenced by the coastal stretches of Devon and Cornwall, where the interplay of light and weather creates a constantly evolving natural ‘canvas’.
My work has found homes across the UK, America and New Zealand and, in addition to exhibiting locally, I share my work through my Facebook page ‘Mandy Cheyne Moors Artwork’. Through my work, I hope to offer viewers a chance to feel the magic of the natural world.
